The HSOC is always appreciative of supplies donated to our organization and it really makes a difference! Here are some of our important “wish list” items and you can download our full “Wish List” below. . If you would like to offer assistance in other ways e-mail us at email@example.com. Thank you for helping to save a pet in need!
Smile while you shop and the HSOCNJ animals will smile, too!
You shop for everyday and gift items at Amazon, so why make every purchase count for the HSOCNJ Animals! Tens of millions of products on AmazonSmile are eligible for donations. You will see eligible products marked “Eligible for AmazonSmile donation” on their product detail pages. Recurring Subscribe-and-Save purchases and subscription renewals are not currently eligible. You use the same account on Amazon.com and AmazonSmile. Your shopping cart, Wish List, wedding or baby registry, and other account settings are also the same. On your first visit to AmazonSmile (smile.amazon.com), you need to select "Humane Society of Ocean City Inc" to have us receive donations from eligible purchases before you begin shopping. Amazon will remember your selection, and then every eligible purchase you make at smile.amazon.com will result in a donation. The AmazonSmile Foundation will donate 0.5% of the purchase price from your eligible AmazonSmile purchases to the Humane Society of Ocean City. This adds up quickly and will make a difference to the animals! The purchase price is the amount paid for the item minus any rebates and excluding shipping & handling, gift-wrapping fees, taxes, or service charges.
(From time to time, Amazon may offer special, limited time promotions that increase the donation amount on one or more products or services or provide for additional donations to charitable organizations. Special terms and restrictions may apply. Please see the relevant promotion for complete details.)
1.) Sponsor an animal residing at the shelter. This will help cover medical costs and supplies while they wait for their new home.
2.) Volunteer at the shelter through “A Day of Caring” and help with projects (ex. painting, gardening) that will benefit the shelter.
3.) Instead of bringing presents for students’ birthdays, bring in donations for the shelter.
4.) Sign up for summer education programs. The HSOC has education programs all summer long where children can learn about animal care and get hands-on experience with the animals living at the shelter.
5.) Have your office/class volunteer at special events for the shelter.
6.) Host a donation drive to collect items from the Wish List for the dogs and cats residing at the shelter.
7.) Design posters for the shelter to hang up in your school.
8.) Encourage friends and family to adopt pets from shelters instead of purchasing at pet stores or irresponsible “backyard” breeders.
9.) Organize a trip to a shelter to learn how they work and see what you can do to help.
10.) Most importantly, be a good pet owner! Take your pet for regular veterinary check-ups, play with them, give them attention, and love them!
